Sr. Automation Engineer will assist an Intelligence Community (IC) organization in technically transforming its current services with leading edge technology surges by designing, implementing and operating network monitoring tool suites. The Sr. Automation Engineer will support design, transition, operations, and continual service improvement activities associated with the organization’s Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks, Unified Communication (UC), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Streaming, and other services, leveraging core expertise in at least one relevant toolset.

Responsibilities:

• Providing guidance to small teams that integrate systems and automate common processes
• Engineering and enhancing various Cisco network monitoring tools
• Designing and implementing integrations/orchestrations of environments using Ansible, Python,
Terraform, Azure Cloud Automation, and other automation tools
• Designing and integrating network and other monitoring tools with ServiceNow or other ITSM suites
• Designing and developing end-to-end CI/CD and testing workflows to exercise system, integration, and
pre-production validations
• Developing and peer-review unit test automation code to verify functionality per requirements
• Documenting and reviewing documentation of operational procedures
• Providing technical support for existing automation routines, troubleshooting, and error correction
• Recognizing, justifying, and making continuous improvement opportunities for automation
• Influencing others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree and 5 years’ relevant experience; OR High School/GED and 9 years’ experience; OR
Associates degree and 7 years’ experience; Masters Degree and 3 years’ experience; OR PhD and 1
year’s experience
• Active TS/SCI Clearance (Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph preferred)
• IAT II Certification (e.g. Security+)
• Core expertise administrating/designing one or more Cisco network automation tools such as:
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Cisco DNA/Catalyst Center (DNAC)
Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO)
• Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer (CTAL-TAE) Certification (obtainable with 2
months of start date)
• Experience administrating Windows Server OS including with automatic device recovery scripting
• Experience writing automation scripts using Ansible or Linux, especially to ingest/integrate data
• Experience performing network integration/testing in laboratory environments
• Experience automating ticketing, inventory management, router/switch configuration (from bare metal
to full configuration), change detection, policy enforcement, STIG application, and/or change
scheduling processes
• Experience automating technical processes to achieve a positive business impact through systems
integration and custom scripting in one of the following programming languages (C#, SQL, Java,
Python, and/or R)
• Experience as network engineer and familiarity with infrastructure, standards, best practices, etc.

Preferred:

• Active/recent CI Polygraph
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP) certification or higher
• Experience directly supporting/engineering IC applications and networks
• Functional capability administrating network automation tools such as:
Network Node Manager i (NNMi)
HP Network Automation (HPNA)
ServiceNow IT Operations & Asset Management
